PROJECTS

The most important part of the Gary Haggart Club is the fact that all the money we raise goes right back into our community. Below you will find some of the organizations and people we have been able to help:

For the past several years we have sent individual children to a YMCA Camp - Camp Copeneconic. These are kids who have never had a camp experience, and would never be able to go otherwise. This year we sent 12 children.

A young mother with 2 children is living in transitional housing because of abuse. On top of that, the mother has cardiomyopathy and needs weekly transfusions. We were able to help she and her children by giving her money for food, gas, clothing, and a few toys for the kids!

A donation was made to the International Academy of Flint for their girls basketball team. This donation allowed the girls to play in League competition. Most of the girls come from single parent/low income households and they are not able to pay the fee for the League on their own.

The Cummings Early Childhood Learning Center was developed by U of M Flint in response to the growing problems of children effected by the water crisis in Flint. The schools philosophy is that the best defense against the effects of exposure to lead is a robust early childhood development that addresses social, emotional, nutritional, and gross motor development. We were able to provide funds to the school to help pay for necessities like diapers, and clothing.
